IEEE 1789 (Recommended Practices for Modulating Current in High-Brightness LEDs for Mitigating Health Risks to Viewers) recommends a flicker percentage of 8% or less. At around 3%, flicker is barely perceptible to the human eye.

According to JIS Z9110:2010, workplace surfaces require 500 lx illumination to meet work environment lighting standards.
Medium-sized machine tools use NLSS12C 40° light distribution angle. At 1.5m directly below, the measured illumination is 500lx, which is about twice the illumination of NLSS-05C.

The 40° light distribution angle is 2.9m directly below, and the measured illumination is 500lx, which provides sufficient lighting for large machines.
